Since 2016, CAI has designed transformational programmes that encourage reading, leadership and educational access across Nigeria.
CAI's flagship school outreach programme, preparing secondary school students for life beyond the classroom. The campaign brings professionals, entrepreneurs, educators and creative industry leaders directly into schools to mentor students on career planning, leadership, entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, financial literacy and life skills. It has reached schools across Northern, South-East and South-South Nigeria and continues to expand across the continent.
A competitive platform encouraging reading, critical thinking, research, public speaking and teamwork through carefully selected African literary works. It progresses from grassroots preliminaries through regional and national stages before culminating in the Pan-African Championship. Learn more at thebookworm.africa.
A television and digital programme extending literary learning beyond competition — engaging students, teachers, authors and education stakeholders through book reviews, literary debates, author interviews, classroom discussions and educational documentaries.
CAI identifies out-of-school children and vulnerable students from underserved communities and connects them with scholarship opportunities, educational support and strategic partnerships that enable them to remain in school.
Building Communities of Readers — the Bookworm Club creates safe and engaging spaces where young people develop a lifelong love for reading and writing. Through regular reading sessions, book discussions, author engagements, literary workshops and community reading projects, members improve comprehension, communication, analytical thinking and confidence. The club is gradually building one of Africa's largest networks of young readers.
